Your Hometown News - Biloxi

Residents of some coast FEMA trailer parks say they have about a week to move out, yet they're not feeling anxious. FEMA plans to close two parks on February 29th, one on Howard Avenue in Biloxi, the other on Church Avenue in Pass Christian. People living in those parks must move out 30 days ahead of time.

Dallas, I love you, but I've found Austin

There's something to be said for loose paper menus. Unlike the leather-bound ones, they're easy to manipulate. You can fold them and slip them into your coat or purse without arousing suspicion. They're easy reference points that can be consulted again and again—as the food arrives, as you eat, as you challenge a word in the descriptions. "This shrimp tastes like lobster." Did the chef change something out?

Baby wedge salad/Maytag dressing/apple wood-smoked bacon. This is the sum of words describing the classic "wedge" on the butcher paper menu at BLT Steak. "Wedge" seems too coarse a word for this delicate cross-section of lettuce with loose folds, specs of bacon in the channels and pebbles of blue cheese in the chambers. It looks like a set of concert shells or a cleaved nautilus. Shame to eat it.

TV's Beadle dies at 59

JEREMY Beadle, one of Britain's favourite television presenters during the 1980s and early 1990s, has died from pneumonia in London.

Beadle, 59, died of complications from pneumonia while being treated in a hospital in North London, The Sun newspaper's website reported. He died surrounded by his family, including his wife Sue and his children.

His agent was not immediately available for comment.

Beadle, the host of programs such as Beadle's About and You've Been Framed, was a constant presence on TV screens for more than a decade, although in recent years he kept a much lower profile, preferring to write books and do charity work.

The presenter was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, but did not let the condition restrain him, going on to publish three new books last year.

Griffin: Jays just as guilty as anyone

The key to not repeating history is to learn from it. Using four primary sources, former U.S. Senate majority leader George Mitchell has merely scratched the surface of a decade's worth of major-league baseball steroid abuse, releasing his 21-months-in-the-making report that has named names (big and small) and pulled no punches. The Jays seem as guilty as anyone.

The main sources for Mitchell's report were 1) BALCO; 2) a former Mets clubhouse attendant; 3) a personal trainer for Roger Clemens; and 4) the Albany (N.Y.) D.A.'s investigation of an online pharmacy. With many witnesses not under oath, the danger is that hearsay be mistaken for fact. A few players will suffer, but the greater good of the game has been served.

What can be seen from the tip of this iceberg of evidence is that the blight of performance enhancement affects all levels of skill and body types.

New Zimbabwe currency imminent

RBZ says it's time to teach these people a lesson. Some people were beginning to sell money for between 15% and 20% margins. This is unacceptable," Gono said.

Commencing Thursday this week, Gono said the RBZ would engage all banks to check on progress and preparedness for the change over.

The central bank has already acquired vehicles and set-up command centres for the exercise which will involve the police.

Banks and audit firms will for the forthcoming weeks, work towards changing their systems in preparation for the change-over from bearer cheques to a new currency.

Gono said he would lop off the zeroes from the new currency but refused to give away too much maintaining that "they could be 1, 2, 3 or four zeroes. Only the Governor knows how many".
