But you monday morning quaterback probably dont even remeber gas prices or this car. Just the propaganda film.with oil prices 75% of what they are now. (in the 20-30 dollar a barrel range). a 2 seat car (similar to that ever popular honda insight. (that same great 2 seater that honda no longer makes ethier).heck honda killed the accord hybrid, and might kill the civic hybrid. And the prius hybrid didn't sell well until it looked goofy.the ev1 was a car that could only work in warm weather states. (because range decreased if the temprature was below like 60 degrees). And costs apporaching 1 billion dollars. 'Economic miracle' fades away

TEHUACAN, Mexico — On the western edge of town — past the brightly painted townhouses of the middle class, past the new shopping mall, off the highway and across the railroad tracks — the prosperity and the pavement end.

In an unpainted cinder-block house on a dark street, a man swats mosquitoes and recounts how his 13-year-old son died chasing the dream of prosperity.

Maybe there's a link between the magnanimity of a teenager's willful ...

He is the one that made that choice, not the mother. I don't think he will hate his mother for enforcing rules that are a matter of life and death rather he may recognise the severity of his bad judgement, and realise how loved he is to have a mother that gives a damn. THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS By Patricia E. Celenza

Each month, for the past five months, its members donate enough money to provide 1,200 hot meals each and every month to people (mostly women and children) who live and/or work in garbage dumps in Honduras. Each meal consists of rice, beans, tortillas, chicken, and juice. This program also helps to relocate people from these dumps, aiding them in finding housing/employment elsewhere.
Once a week, the Ladies Group, composed of about a dozen women, visits people in their homes throughout the village. The Ladies Group provides fellowship and support for people who, for whatever reason, cannot travel easily outside their homes.

Apple to unveil new products at giant Macworld event

Last week, it was the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. This week, the big personal tech news event is the annual Macworld Show in San Francisco, where Apple is expected to unveil a new ultra-slim notebook and announce a new movie rental download service.

More than 50,000 people are expected to attend this year's event and Apple CEO Steve Jobs has a real challenge on his hands to match the news from last year's event, where he announced the revolutionary iPhone.

This year, the Apple rumor sites have been in full press mode talking about a new subcompact machine that is 50% thinner than current models. Internet rumor has it called the "MacBook Air," though Apple hasn't officially confirmed anything.

The other big Apple news expected is a deal with most of the major Hollywood studios to allow movie rentals from the iTunes Store.

Spillover from bleak housing sector could effect Inland retail ...

The Inland region, like much of the nation, could be in for a rough year in terms of growing and retaining retail tenants, analysts say.

The culprit is the housing slump, whose ferocity has led retailers to rethink their existing deployment and slow down expansion plans.

Locally, as in areas from Phoenix to Cleveland, home foreclosures and poor holiday sales are leading to closures and delayed openings.
