Digital River's Jim Wehmann: Building a Better E-Commerce Site

"The measure of a site is how long are consumers staying there, and are they buying and doing the things that we want them to do?" said Digital River's Jim Wehmann. "We've gone beyond whether or not something is the coolest, flash-enabled sexy site. That may not be what consumers are looking for and don't always produce the best results."

The case against traffic lights

How much extra cost will the health system sustain because of accidents? Who has right of way? Tell that to drivers who insist that they own the road. Whilst they may be expensive and are not a pretty sight, they do save lives. I would suggest that we study history as to why they were introduced. For safety and traffic control. In those day the volume was zulch in comparison with todays traffic. I looked at the calender when I read the report, today is not April 1st. Sorry but thus is a daft & not thought through idea.

What Is Doppler Radar?

That means when severe weather or a tornado starts to form, the Doppler Radar will detect the storms' patterns. The StormTracker7 Live Doppler Radar Network provides the additional ability to look at a storm from multiple angles. That gives the clearest picture of what is happening inside a developing storm.

KLTV meteorologists are trained to read and analyze Doppler data and pass the information on to you. They can pinpoint the most severe storms, tell you what they are doing and where they are headed. Often, KLTV is able to inform you of threatening weather even before an official warning is issued.

One of the reasons KLTVmeteorologists are so precise is that KLTV owns two real-time Doppler Radars and uses them in conjunction with the National Weather Service's Doppler radars in Dallas and Shreveport.

Belgacom and Nokia Siemens IPTV contract extension

Shares in Premiere slumped as it emerged its former owner Leo Kirch had won the rights to market Bundesliga football for the next six years. Kirch, now aged 81, saw his media empire implode in 2002 in Germany’s then largest bankruptcy. Kirch is still suing Deutsche Bank for E1.6 billion over the collapse of his business.

Premiere said it was still keen on bidding for the rights to the most popular sport in Germany. The DFL, the German football association, is expecting to earn E3.45bn from the next six seasons – an increase of about a third on what it receives at the moment. Kirch, who through his company, Sirius, will only market but not transmit the matches, has promised minimum revenue of E3 billion over the timeframe from selling the rights in Germany.

Shares in Premiere fell 12 per cent.

Mid-Columbia news

Ice jams had caused some flooding a half mile downstream of the Van Giesen Road Bridge in West Richland, according to Benton County Emergency Services. It warned that horses and cattle may become stranded by water running through pastures.

Road conditions

Road conditions improved Monday after drivers struggled this weekend with inches of snow over a layer of ice left by freezing rain.

The Washington State Patrol reported 111 accidents in Benton and Franklin counties and 28 in Walla Walla County on Saturday and Sunday. But by Monday troopers were working on getting cars that were off the shoulder towed to make way for tow trucks.

Interstate 82 from Kennewick to the Oregon border reopened Monday morning after being closed for about 12 hours, but oversize loads still were prohibited Monday and chains required on trucks.
