Cell phones help coordinate heist at Wal-Mart
A team of four shoplifters used cell phones to coordinate their simultaneous thefts of three pricey TV sets and a computer at a Wal-Mart store in Commack, the Suffolk police said.
The four men used the phones to plot their escape together through one of the store's rear emergency exits with the stolen goods, the police said.
The police on Tuesday reached out to the public for help, releasing surveillance photos of the shoplifters in the Wal-Mart store after an initial investigation of the Dec. 31 thefts produced no arrests.
