CheapTickets.com Identifies Top Spots for Travelers to 'Give a Little ...

CHICAGO, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Shop ... Give ... Get! As the holiday whirlwind heats up, savvy shoppers can jump-start the season with the ultimate treat: a shopping vacation. For conscientious consumers, CheapTickets.com, a leading online travel agency that knows "the less you pay, the better it feels(SM)," introduces its Holiday Shopping Cheapometer(SM), identifying top-shop cities where travelers can blow their budget on the presents, not the hotel room. And in the spirit of giving, CheapTickets invites shoppers to "give a little, get a lot," incorporating a volunteer activity into their travel experience for a true gift this holiday season.

Whether exploring the shopping splendor of New York City's Fifth Avenue, or enjoying the intimacy of Minneapolis' charming Linden Hills, travelers can marry their zeal for finding that perfect gift with their desire to lend a helping hand.

Jittery retailers seek answers in wee hours

One of the biggest shopping days of the year got off to a record early start on Friday with stores such as Kohl's and J.C. Penney opening as early as 4 a.m., a mark of how aggressively retailers are pursuing shoppers in what is predicted to be the slowest-growth holiday retail season in five years.

Monica Zepeda, 25, an assembly-line worker from Chicago, began shopping with out-of-town guests at 5 a.m. The group snapped up bargains on a Sony DVD player and Nautica jogging suits. Getting up before dawn was worth it, she said.

"I'm trying to spend less," she said. "Gas hits the pocketbook real hard."

In my opinion they are more colorful and crazed than any Professional Football, Baseball, Basketball, or Hockey fan base and the Texas Longhorn fan is indeed an interesting breed. The University of Texas is located in the great city of Austin. One of the coolest cities in the United States. Known for it's hospitable atmosphere and great night life. It has been called the "Live Music Capitol of the World" and I've have found that to be true. But on Saturdays in the fall it's all about the Longhorns. These fans truly bleed burnt orange. One thing that I believe separates this group of fans from all others is that they are never critical of their team. Even when the team is not performing up to expectations there is always a silver lining. They proudly flash the "Hook 'em Horns" sign even after the most crushing of defeats.

DSF Office reveals new strategy for Dubai Shopping Festival

The new strategy emphasizes shopping as a core focus in the coming editions of DSF. Additionally, the festival will play a significant role in promoting new entertainment projects and establishing a vibrant entertainment industry in Dubai. A key highlight of the strategy is the involvement of the private sector that will eventually organize 70 per cent of all entertainment activities in DSF with the DSF Office taking the lead in planning, marketing, and promoting the events within the festival. Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer of DSF, pointed out the need for a new strategy for DSF.

'Dubai is witnessing a scale of growth that has been matched by few nations in recent years and its dominating presence in the global tourism and commerce scene warrants a dynamic strategy for DSF in the coming years.

One can dismiss them as elites, but for better or for worse, elites do play a significant role in shaping the course of events. If you believe, as I do, that it is critical to the future of the globe that the U.S. become once again a power to whom others turn with respect and for leadership, we need to pull ourselves back up.We don't need to be the world's only superpower -- we have to respect the right of others to share join leadership -- but it will be a much more threatening world for our kids and grandkids if others rise and we continue on a downhill slope. .

Mistress of disguise will spend the rest of her life looking over her ...

She then dressed them with modelling wax, dental plaster, make-up, grease-paint, false hair, hair dye and face powder. She used her bra straps to pin back one man’s eyes to give them a more slanted look and inserted the rubber teats of a baby bottle into his nostrils.

When police found her less than 24 hours after the robbery after a tip-off, they found a bin containing £400 worth of such products as well as wrapping paper from two theatrical suppliers in London. As officers led her away in tears from her flat in Plumstead, southeast London, she said that she would not comment, claiming that if she did, she and her family would be in danger.

In a statement handed to detectives later, Ms Hogg wrote: "I would like to assist the police further so I could establish my innocence but I am terrified as to what may happen to me and my family if I say too much.
